After the great success of UBC2C HOLLYWOOD Entertainment & Media Symposium in 2009, sponsored by Variety’s VarietyMediaCareers.com, Writers Boot Camp at Bergamot Station, and Creative Handbook ― we are preparing to launch UBC2C NYC Arts, Entertainment & Media Symposium July 23-25, 2010, at New York City’s Macaulay Honors College at the City University. The New York City symposium will be geared to young professionals, students from UB and New York area universities, and UB alumni who are seeking to “learn, network, and explore” with industry insiders.
Students will forge important connections and learn firsthand from entertainment and media leaders; the symposium will provide UB alumni with valuable networking and professional development opportunities as well. We invite you to become a UBC2C NYC sponsor to support travel and registration costs for deserving UB students. Sponsorships are also available for donations of event-related services and items (please see the enclosed materials for more details.)
UBC2C NYC will be take place over three days:
Friday, July 23 : “A Day In The Life” consisting of on-site visits with networks, studios, film/TV sets, media offices, and arts institutions in the area (Variety, Silvercup Studios, Steiner Studio, Law and Order set, New York City Ballet, and Roundabout Theatre Company are already committed; more will be added.)
Saturday, July 24 : Full-day workshops led by industry veterans ―all UB alumni─ in areas such as arts management, directing, comedy writing for all genres, entertainment news media, acting, entertainment law, and independent film production and marketing, followed by an evening of entertainment.
Sunday, July 25 : Keynote speaker breakfast followed by “Sunday Morning Mentoring Madness”― mentors from various industries (alumni and non-alumni) will meet one-on-one and/in small groups with attendees.
Variety, Bergamot Station and Writers Boot Camp have once again agreed to be among the sponsors. Workshop presenters returning this year are Alan Zweibel, Ted Kryzcko and Peter Riegert. Joining them will be Linda Gelman, Paul Zuckerman, Ken Tabachnick, and others to be announced.
Becoming a sponsor of the UBC2C NYC Arts, Entertainment & Media Symposium is a great way to gain visibility for your business, connect with fellow UB alumni, and make new contacts in the media and entertainment industry. We are pleased to offer you this exciting opportunity, and we hope you will become a sponsor of the second annual UBC2C Symposium in July 2010.
