Don Zakarin ’72

He is chairman of the litigation department at New York’s Pryor Cashman “having attained the position mostly by clean living and inertia.”
He considers himself a general litigator, having represented clients in a wide variety of areas, including securities law cases, antitrust cases, commodities law cases and general corporate and commercial cases.
However, over the past 35 years Zakarin has developed an expertise in representing both individuals and corporate clients in the entertainment field, with a particular focus in music.
He has represented Mariah Carey, Enrique Iglesias, Jermain Dupri, Kanye West, Britney Spears in copyright infringement cases and contractual disputes. He regularly represents EMI Records and EMI Music Publishing as well as Sony/ATV Music Publishing, Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group.
He has also represented executives in the music business, including the legendary Clive Davis and L.A. Reid.
Don Zakarin will lead the Entertainment, Arts and Media Law Panel.
