A visit to the United Nations has been added to the NY Times/CUNY Day in the Life visit.
We still have several spots available for this incredible Day in the Life opportunity. If you’re interested in journalism or photography this is one Day in the Life session you can’t miss.
You’ll start with a tour of CUNY Graduate School of Journalism, where you’ll get a chance to meet recent graduates of the program who are working in journalism jobs in New York City. Afterward Jere Hester who runs NYCity News Service, a multimedia, Web-based wire service that makes student stories about New York neighborhoods available to news organizations around the world, will discuss CUNY’s hyperlocal activities in partnership with the New York Times. Your tour continues on at The New York Times, located next door to CUNY, where you’ll visit with photo editor, Jim Estrin co-editor of the Lens, The Times’s photography blog. Then you’ll head back to CUNY for lunch. The last stop on this Day in the Life visit is at the United Nations, where you’ll learn about their news operation.
